This Oregon beach has been known to me for years but it wasn’t until a recent spring photography trip that I was able to see it in person. Arriving at Bandon Beach is like visiting a landscape from another world. The myriad of seastacks, crashing waves, countless tidal pools and the pristine beach are just some of the characteristics that comprise this uniquely beautiful setting. Walking the beach is similar to stepping onto a padded carpet and couldn’t be more comfortable. A gentle breeze carries with it a wisp of sea spray, the smell of clean air and the calls of resident sea birds. From the cliffs above, the view of this oceanfront scenery is second to none. On this particular day, as the sun was preparing to set, the incoming tide roared with delight as the shoreline disappeared beneath it. One seastack in particular thundered with each crashing wave as it was devoured by the mighty Pacific.
