About The Images With Franklin Graham

This past August, I was contacted by Cynthia Scott, the Executive Director of the Three Rivers Festival of Hope. Among one of her many duties was organizing the regional effort to bring Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelist Association to Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. From August 15 -17, there were 3 separate days/evenings of free musical concerts by such notable Christian artists as Michael W Smith, Aaron Shust, Charlie Daniels and more. At each event, Franklin Graham also brought the good news of Christ with a special message of Hope to the Pittsburgh region. More than 25,000 attended the event and thousands more watched it streaming live around the world.

Cynthia contacted me on the recommendation of Nancy Cochran, a board member and friend of mine who knows of my work to create a gift for Franklin from the committee and City of Pittsburgh. It was my pleasure, along with Cynthia, to present Franklin one of my framed photographs of Pittsburgh. In the matting of that image was a message that read:

I had the additional privilege of framing proclamations for Franklin Graham from the Governor of Pennsylvania, the Allegheny County Executive and the Mayor of Pittsburgh. My sincere thanks to Director Cynthia Scott and board member Nancy Cochran for entrusting me with this wonderful opportunity and experience.

With the passing of his mother in 1986 and his father in 1987, their loss forced Howard to consider his own mortality, his spirituality and how to fill the void that was left in his life. For his mother, the church was the doorway to spirituality and held the answers to many of the needs we all share. For his father, nature was the pathway to a relationship with the Almighty.
